Writer Director Daniel R. Chavez with Host Julie-Kathleen
Langan on ActorsE Chat
Daniel R. Chavez is a writer and director originally from North Hollywood, California.
Following graduation from North Hollywood High, Daniel attended college at UCLA
where he studied Business Management for the entertainment industry.
Daniel worked his way up in Hollywood beginning as a
temporary clerk with Columbia Pictures. Daniel rapidly moved up in the business
and gained a lot of experience into how a major motion picture studio operates
in the day to day business. This was an incredible experience for Daniel but
left him yearning for more as this was not the most interesting work.
Daniel desired more creativity in his career and went on
to gain management and executive positions within The Walt Disney Company,
SoundStorm and Graymatter. Upon his appointment to Vice President of Post
Production Services for Warner Bros., Daniel noticed a change and felt the
creative flow as a result of the established relationships with the artists and
icons in television and in film. This also led to Daniel’s desire to read more
scripts and subsequently led to him writing as well. As Daniel’s creativity
flourished, this opened the door for him to directing.
Then in 2010, Daniel developed his own full service
production company and Ad agency, DragonCove Studios. As a leader and veteran
in the industry with years of practical experience, Daniel began directing and
producing commercials within his own production company. Then in 2012 Daniel
fulfilled another dream through making his writing and directorial debut with
his feature film “Broken Glass.”
