In 1984, after leaving NBC's WKQX in Chicago, and moving to Dallas to launch KISS in Dallas for ABC; I met the then Columbia Records company Representative Michael Scurlock. Passionate, full of creative ideas, energy, and a wiliness to win your ears with his Artist's and Groups, Michael was on the ball. Because of my relationships with so many Recording Artists and Groups, both as a Programmer and Broadcast Network On-Air Talent; it was common to have them as guests for my shows, at events, in concert, see them backstage at concerts and in the recording studio.
Michael knew this and was quick to bring them when they where in town in what seemed like an endless parade of talent: Steve Perry, Paul McCartney, Bette Midler, Billy Joel, Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Bolton, Aretha Franklin, Santana, The Bangles, C+C Music Factory, Paul Simon, George Benson, Aerosmith, Philip Bailey, AC/DC, Barry Manilow, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Neil Diamond, Kenny Loggins, Loverboy, Eddie Money, Dolly Parton,James Taylor, Tommy Tutone, Bonnie Tyler, ZZ Top and members of The Rolling Stones too name just a few.
