 | President Reardon Co-Chairs Care For the Homeless Benefit Gala "Care For the Homeless is a New York City nonprofit that is very close to my heart, both as a citizen of the city and as a union member and activist," said President Reardon. "This is an extremely important event in light of the fact that homelessness in New York has become worse in recent years, and has hit women and children especially hard." |
The gala dinner benefit will take place at COMIX in New York City and will feature performances by AFTRA member comedians Scott Blakeman, Robert Klein, Cathy Ladman, Sherri Shepherd and Jimmy Tingle. Care For the Homeless provides health care and social services to more than 10,000 men, women and children each year by sending teams of doctors, nurses, social workers, health educators and other professionals to more than 36 soup kitchens and shelters. Care For the Homeless works with outreach teams to provide services to those living on the streets in Manhattan and the Bronx. They also operate Susan’s Place, a shelter for 200 mentally ill and medically frail, homeless women. Click here to learn more or purchase tickets to the event. |
