Leon Isaac Kennedy is an actor, writer, and producer originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Leon decided at fifteen years old that he would be a movie star, writer, and producer. Leon defied the odds at his time when there were limited roles for African Americans. Leon paved his own way by becoming one of the youngest disk jockeys in the top ten market.

Leon is already in the history books as a creative pioneer in radio, TV and in the movies. Leon has been considered a “child of the media” as he is one of the rare few who has been blessed to creatively write, act, and produce in all aspects of radio, television and on film.

Leon had moved on to television by age 19 and was still working on his plan to become famous when he had his first TV show “Teen-A-Rama”. Leon was still working in radio and was promoted from Teen Weekend DJ in Cleveland, Ohio to full time in an even larger market, Detroit, also known as Motown. Leon became most of the most popular disk jockeys in Detroit in the late sixties, and was also known as “Leon The Lover”. This was due to his smooth voice and his classic show “Leon’s Lover’s Lane”.

Leon is best known for his work in Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), Body and Soul (1981) and Penitentiary (1979). Leon also played in other television shows such as Chips, The Hitchhiker, Off The Minnesota Strip, among others. Leon's writing and producing credits include being the youngest Writer-Producer for KNBC for 90 Tonight Show, My Buddy in which he co-wrote and co-produced ABC Television Pilot for Top Star, Redd Foxx, among numerous other credits.

Leon is now a minister full time. Additionally Leon has partnered with Smokey Robinson in a food company, Smokey Robinson Foods.
