Child Actor Felix Avitia guests on ActorsE Chat with Actress Host Christie Philips
Felix Miguel Avitia was born in San Diego, California. His father’s family is originally from Durango, Mexico and his mother’s family are from Manchester, England. Felix enjoys the influences from both his Mexican and English traditions and cultures in an American society.
Felix's earliest audition came when he was only one-year-old and he was featured in Cold Case as a little brother at the early age of two. When Felix was four, he began working in print modeling for companies such as Logitech and United Health Care. Things started to change for him in 2010 when Felix co-starred on the television series House, M.D. (FOX) starring Hugh Laurie. Then in 2012, Felix co-starred in another television series, Rizzoli & Isles (TNT) and played the character of Cameron Jackson. In 2013, Felix played on the television series Bones and played the character of Javier Alvarado and was the Top of the Show Guest Star (Season 9, Episode 3). In 2014, Felix co-starred on many other shows including Glee (FOX), Haunted Hathaways (Nickelodeon), The Mentalist (CBS), I Didn’t Do It (Disney), Sea of Fire (ABC-Pilot), and New Girl (FOX).
Felix has also started voice over acting and was cast to star in The Land Before Time XIV movie as the character of Little Foot. This film is set to be released in late 2015. Felix is currently cast as the lead character and is singing in an animation pilot for Amazon Prime titled Niko. Felix has also recently been signed by Disney and will star in a pilot in 2015 with veteran Disney actor Cameron Boyce.
At the very young age of six Felix obtained his Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card. Additionally, Felix is one of very few children with Stunt Experience and has performed using harnesses and wires on various projects. Felix has experience both flipping and flying. Felix also adds underwater scuba training to his repertoire and was certified at age 10.
In 2012, he won the Best Young Actor award at the Omni Wars which was held at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Additionally, he was nominated for Best Guest Performance Young Actor for his role in Bones (FOX) in 2014 and in 2012 for Best Performance in a Short Film as a young actor.
