Singer Songwriter Maggie with host Ric Drasin on ActorsE Chat
Maggie Szabo is a singer/songwriter originally from
Ontario, Canada and considered a Canadian Pop Powerhouse. Maggie is best known
as a YouTube Sensation and has won audiences with over 13 million views on Vevo
and YouTube.
Maggie began writing songs and singing at a young age in
which she took the opportunity to explore and perform in as many opportunities
as she could. Following Maggie’s completion of high school, she packed her car
and drove to Nashville, Tennessee to work on developing her songwriting
abilities.
Maggie’s stint in Nashville was an amazing time for her
as she created fresh new sounds infused with soulful pop melodies. Maggie notes
that she was inspired by her experiences and surroundings. It was also during
this time that she was offered a record deal with Linus Entertainment (Ontario).
Linus Entertainment then released Maggie’s debut pop
album “Now Hear Me Out” in November 2012 launching her officially into the music
world. All of the songs on the album were co-written by Maggie along with
Justin Gray, Gavin Bradley, and Tanya Leah. This experience helped Maggie to
grow her online fan-base and her social media following, which has gained a lot
of attention as it competes with some of the nation’s most established pop
artists. Maggie’s debut single “Lovesick” was a hit across the Canadian airplay
as it was on heavy rotation among radio stations across the nation.
Being in LA, Maggie has gained additional exposure by
playing her music to sold-out crowds in various live venues such as the House
of Blues, Viper Room, Molly Malones, and the Hotel Café.
Maggie’s latest song “Tidal Waves and Hurricanes” was
released on February 8th, and is available on iTunes.
