Singer/Songwriter Claudette Robinson and Host Ron Brewington
Claudette Rogers Robinson is a singer/songwriter and is
most famous for being a member of The Miracles from 1957 to 1972. Claudette is
also the former wife of lead singer Smokey Robinson. The famed song “My Girl”
was written and produced by Smokey Robinson and Ronald White in dedication to
Claudette. Claudette’s rise into The Miracles came after she took her brother’s
place when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Before that, Claudette’s brother
Emerson “Sonny” Rogers was an original member of the group, which prior to
1957, was called “The Matadors”.
Claudette is also known as the “First Lady of Motown”,
and is currently writing her autobiography to include her memoirs and the story
of her life with The Miracles. Claudette is now President/CEO of First Lady
Miracle Publishing, in which she works with various groups that are dedicated
to helping young people. Claudette and the other members of The Miracles were
inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, and also received a star
on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009.
