German Producer Andrea Staerke was at AFM 2013 promoting a trilogy of films about Love, Sex and Death. The film itself is called German Angst and is the revival of the German Demonic movement which died out in the United States after the end of World War II. The entire concept of the movement is to take the human psyche to a place that it is uncomfortable to go whether that is the back of a dark alley, or into the middle of a swingers club in Berlin. All of the stories as well as the directors are quintessentially German. Kurt sat down with Andrea to learn more about the movement as well as to learn more about the market revival.
The movement itself was disrupted because of World War II and the movement became more of an after thought for many years after the war. Since then the cinema has sought a revival and has grown in popularity all over the world making its debut at Canne and many other locations. As the movement continues to grow it has also continued to morph. The movement has started again to blossom with the meeting of the minds of Buttgereit, who is getting ready to produce his first film in 20 years. Many thought he would no longer create film and yet the demand has continued to grow in popularity as well as in clamor for the debut. Andreas Marschall also is known for his various films related to sex and the darker side of human nature. Kosakowski is also raising awareness as well as his own talents with his film company and his own part in the trilogy.
Andrea was interviewed by Kurt Kelly, The Voice of Experience. Kurt is one of the most sought after and dynamic interviewers in the industry and has been active across many different medias for decades.
