Screen Actors Guild Foundation and Screen Actors Guild are delighted to offer “business of acting” LifeRaft Live Stream events to Guild members across the nation at no charge, via live video stream on the Internet!

LifeRaft provides innovative knowledge to actors by way of panel discussions with seasoned industry professionals. Now, through the innovative Live Stream program, you can participate online every Tuesday, 6-8pm (PT), January 12 through April 27, 2010.

SAG Agency Department: An Evening with Agents
6-8 p.m. (PT), Tuesday, January 12
Interested in developing helpful techniques that can advance your career opportunities? What should a performer look for in an agent, and what are agents looking for in a client? What are the intricacies involved in the agent-performer relationship? How much knowledge do you have of the agency regulations and what rights they provide you? Find out this and more from agent guests Lisa Berman from Berman/Sacks, Jaime Ferrar of the JFA Jaime Ferrar Agency, Lalaneya Filuk from the Bloc Talent Agency, Gar Lester from Gar Lester Agency, Chaim Magnum from Lemon Lime Agency, and moderator Zino Macaluso, SAG’s National Director/Sr. Counsel, Agency Relations.

An Evening with Commercial Casting Directors
6-8 p.m. (PT), Tuesday, January 19
Join some of the commercial industry’s most respected casting directors as they share the inside track on what it takes to be effective in the audition room. Learn from this stellar panel of commercial casting directors what it takes to book the job and earn a living in commercials. Panelists include casting directors Francene Selkirk Ackerman (Coke, Geico, Saturn) and Terry Berland (Apple, Pepsi, McDonalds) and moderator actor-director Bjorn Johnson.

SAG Contracts Corner: Commercials 101 for Principals
6-8 p.m. (PT), Tuesday, January 26
Get valuable tools and information needed for your career as a professional actor in commercials. This comprehensive seminar begins with a 15-minute presentation on Commercials for Background before expanding into Commercials for Principals. This session, presented by the Screen Actors Guild Commercials Department, will help you gain valuable knowledge about the basic provisions in the new SAG Commercials Contract. Please note that this event is pre-recorded and will follow with a live Q and A with presenters online. Panelists include members of the SAG Commercials Department and a SAG actor with extensive commercial experience.
