Let the Senate Debate Begin
This week, we've all been rightfully celebrating House passage of a historic health care reform bill, but our work is far from over. Now it is the Senate’s turn. However, amazingly enough, some senators don’t even want to debate a health care reform bill on the Senate floor, much less pass one.
We can’t let a minority of senators obstruct reform. Sign our petition to the Senate today:
Stop obstructing reform: Let the Senate debate begin for real health care reform.
We are further along in the process for real health care reform today than we have ever been. The historic House bill will end insurance company abuses, require employers to pay a fair share and establish a strong public option to lower costs and make insurance companies compete. And it won't tax the benefits of hard-working middle class families.
The House bill is truly a momentous achievement, but enormous challenges remain. To keep the process moving forward, it is critical that the Senate start to debate its health care reform bill now. Your signature will be delivered to Sen. Barbara Boxer and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, as well as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Our petition reminds senators that the House got it right by passing a bill that works for America’s working families. The House bill:
- Includes a strong public health insurance option to break the stranglehold of insurance companies and bring down costs.
- Does NOT tax our health care plans.
- Guarantees that employers pay their fair share.
Let the health care reform debate continue. Sign our petition today.
