Reservations Will Be Accepted Until Room Capacity is Reached. back to top Save the Date! -- AFTRA Los Angeles General Membership Meeting, Tuesday, Nov. 10 Mark your calendars! The Fall 2009 AFTRA Los Angeles General Membership Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Promenade on the Lobby Level of the AFTRA Headquarters at 5757 Wilshire Boulevard. Validated parking provided. Staff will be available beginning at 6:30p.m. with the meeting set to kick-off at 7:00p.m.. The evening's program will include: Updates from AFTRA Los Angeles President Ron Morgan and Executive Director Bill Thomas. Election of General Membership Representatives to the 2010 AFTRA Los Angeles Nominating Committee: AFTRA Los Angeles members in good standing may be nominated to represent their category on this year's Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will select candidates for the 2010 election for members of the AFTRA Los Angeles Board of Directors. The General Membership may elect up to eleven members to serve on the Nominating Committee: Four Actors, two Singers, and one from each of the remaining categories (Announcers, Dancers, Newspersons, Sportscaster, Stuntpersons). Members interested in running for the AFTRA Los Angeles Board of Directors in 2010 may NOT serve on the Nominating Committee. General Membership Representatives may not serve more than two consecutive years on the Nominating Committee; therefore, members who served on the 2008 and 2009 committees are not eligible to serve this year. A special panel discussion, “The Role of An Agent,” featuring AFTRA agents.   There are more agents representing AFTRA members as well as more AFTRA members needing representation.  Are you having trouble securing an agent? Are you making the most of your relationship with your agent?   What exactly is the agent’s responsibility and what is yours?  Come and learn more.
