sherry@tarrantbar.org Ms. Husseini is a journalist for the Jordan Times and a long time civil rights activist that has intimate knowledge of the laws in the Middle East that are attempting to be modified at this current time. These laws allow for little jail time for the family members who kill their women for weak reasons related to the honor violated against the family. Having large Arabic communities in Texas, many lawyers in family and criminal law may come across this mindset in their practice, as we saw in Dallas 3 years ago when YASER ABDEL SAID abducted and killed his daughters on 1/1/08 and murdered them in an honor killing.
