Ric Drasin, a man of many talents, is originally from Bakersfield, California and currently resides in Van Nuys, California. Ric is 70 years young and still going strong. In his younger years, Ric started out in the industry as a musician but what really jolted his career was working out at the gym. It was in the gym that Ric found his passion for bodybuilding, power-lifting, and weightlifting which led him to competing professionally. Ric Drasin is now best known in the industry for his wrestling and bodybuilder skills. Ric is also an American actor, musician, coach, artist, director, producer, writer, and Internet talk show host. Ric is also the founder of “Ric’s Corner”, his online interview show. Within his career, Ric has been a stuntman, is a former bodybuilder, retired professional wrestler and also a personal trainer.
Ric also has a talent for drawing and designing and he fell into designing logos by accident. Ric is well known for having designed both the World Gym gorilla logo and the original Gold’s Gym logo – which happens to be a cartooned sketch of a bald weight lifter. Ric Drasin was the weight training partner of Arnold Schwarzenegger for four years at the “original” Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach, California. Ric also has a history as a professional wrestler and was an active professional wrestler for 36 years from 1965-2001. Ric won many titles in amateur bodybuilding contests in his younger years. At the age of 57, Ric Drasin hung up his belt and retired from the ring. However, Ric still maintains active participation as a professional wrestling instructor. Ric Drasin also maintains his position as spokesperson for Gold’s Gym international. Ric's other experience includes his position as a Specialist Reserve Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.
In 2012, Ric Drasin received the first Joe Gold Lifetime Achievement Award at the World Gym Convention in Las Vegas. Ric considers it a great honor to be the first to ever receive this award.
