2013 AMERICAN FILM MARKET WRAPS WEDNESDAY WITH
INCREASE IN PARTICIPANTS AND PACKED CONFERENCES

Santa Monica, CA – November 11, 2013 -- The 2013 American Film Market(AFM®) willwrap up its eight day run on Wednesday, November 13th with 779 new buying companies, a 3% increase and an uptick in overall buyers (1,624). The AFM Conference Series, which launched two years ago, spoke to audiences of more than 700 daily.

Exhibitor attendance was on par from last year with 357 exhibitors from 33 countries. Attendance among exhibitor-affiliated participants (including their executives, producers, talent and guests) concluded at 2,807, down 9% from last year.

Industry attendees, the non-buyers/sellers that include Attorneys, Bankers, Festival Programmers, Film Commissioners, Filmmakers, Financiers, Post Production Facilities, Producers, Studio Facilities, and Writers finished at 2,606 up 21% from last year. The increase reflects the AFM’s expanded programs for producers including the Conference Series, MyAFM online community, and the inaugural Producers Forum.  Overall, the market drew 7,876 participants, up 2% from 2012.

The AFM screened 402 films with 327 Market Premieres, 76 World Premieres and a total of 627 screenings across the AFM Campus in Santa Monica.

The popular five-day AFM Conference Seriesshowcasing sessions on financing, production, marketing, distribution and pitching, as well as other sessions throughout the market, featured global industry leaders including: Adam Carolla, Ryan Kavanaugh,Mark Burnett, Nicolas Gonda, Tobin Armburst, Paul Bales, Eric Brenner, Mark Canton, Cassian Elwes, and many others.

The inaugural AFM Producers Forumbrought together experienced producersfrom around the world, to learn and network at the AFM.  The sixteen forum sessions touched on a wide range of topics from co-productions in China, to working with U.S. guilds to the role of the producer, led by experts including: Joan Graves, Peter Shiao, Richard Baker, Adrian Ward, Joseph Cohen, Aaron Ryder, and Benedict Carver.
