Actors Reporter Interviews Acting Legend Martin Kove With Host Kurt Kelly

Actors Reporter had the privilege of having Martin Kove stop by for a one on one interview.  Martin has become a very recognizable face in Hollywood with a career that has spanned over 80 films.  Martin has also been a part of the industry since the 1970s and has starred opposite some of the largest names in Hollywood.  He sat down with host Kurt Kelly to discuss his role in films as well as what it is like to be a Hollywood icon.

Marty is originally from New York and is known for his striking good looks as well as for playing heroes and villains.  Marty started  off in minor roles and quickly moved on to roles that started to set him apart.  When he landed the role of "Nero The Hero" in the road race Death Race 2000 he became a very popular actor almost overnight.

This was the first time that he had the opportunity to star opposite of Sylvester Stallone and David Carradine.  The premise of the movie is:  in a dystopian future, a cross country automobile race requires contestants to run down innocent pedestrians to gain points that are tallied based on each kill's brutality.

 In the same year Marty had another breakout role which was when he was chosen as Clem when he starred opposite Jan Michael Vincent in White Line Fever.  This is the story of returning from a stint in the Air Force, Carrol Jo Hummer borrows money to buy a truck, hoping to make enough money hauling produce to marry Jerri Kane and set up housekeeping. He discovers that the long-haul business is run by racketeers and decides to fight the corrupt forces that control the trucking business.

Marty had doors continually opening to him as he then took a career changing role on the popular television show Cagney and Lacey. On the show he played the iconic and very honest police detective names Detective Isbecki. Two female police detectives cooperate with each other both in their professions and in their personal lives in this television show.  This was also a breakout show both for women as police officers taking on more masculine roles, and also for Kove who was a heart throb on the show.  He left all the ladies wanting more of his smile and dimples.  The show ran for 6 seasons and became one of the most iconic roles he ever took on.

Kove then starred opposite Sylvester Stallone in Rambo II: First Blood. Starring with Stallone was a turning point in his career as well which led him into the role of playing opposite some of the biggest names in Hollywood. In this movie, John Rambo is released from prison by the government for a top-secret covert mission to the last place on Earth he'd want to return - the jungles of Vietnam.

Next Marty went on to play John Kreese in the Karate Kid series, he played the head of the Cobra Kai school in all three movies.  By this time Marty had become a household name which was synonymous with action.  Kove has continued to grow in his roles in action and was recently promoting a new film when he bumped into Kurt at AFM.

He is visited by the Devil, who offers him a deal that would save the lives of both he and his brother, but instead makes him a bounty hunter for Hell replacing his predecessor. When Zathera, the embodiment of death, walks the earth, it's up to Lane, Hawk and their team, to stop her before she wipes out humanity. They are not the only ones hunting Zathera though - there are others who want to reach Zathera first, for plans of their own!
