The day Monica Holloway learns that her lovable, brilliant three-year-old son, Wills, has Autism Spectrum Disorder, she takes him to buy an aquarium. It's the first in a string of impulsive trips to the pet store to buy animals as a distraction from the uncontrollable, terrifying reality of Wills’ diagnosis. When he reaches six, golden retriever Cowboy Carol Lawrence joins the family and the world opens up for the boy in a way his parents hoped for, but never expected. Their elation is soon tempered however, when they learn that Cowboy only has a few years to work her miracles. In Cowboy & Wills, Holloway shares what the family discovered -- about devotion, about loyalty and about never giving up.

Described by Newsweek as "unforgettable" and deemed "irresistible" by theWashington Post, Holloway's first memoir, Driving with Dead Peoplechronicles her bizarre, often funny and ultimately terrifying life growing up in a small Midwestern town. Death lurks everywhere in her childhood, from her father's predilection for filming grisly car wrecks, to Monica's job in the town mortuary. Monica's prose shines with humor, clear-eyed grace and an uncommon sense of resilience. Driving with Dead People is an extraordinary real-life tale with a wonderfully observant and resourceful heroine.

Monica Holloway is an official spokesperson for Autism Speaks and the National Center for Family Literacy.

Books will be available for purchase and Monica will sign after her talk.
