Director David Rountree Guests on ActorsE Chat with Host Judith Jones
David Rountree is an actor, director and producer, hailing originally from North Carolina. David graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and also possesses a Master’s degree in Physical Education. Additionally, David has been married to actress Rosie Garcia since August of 2006 and they have one daughter together.
David Rountree has been considered one of the Top 10 up and coming Hollywood Directors Under 40 according to IMDb.com. However, as it seems, David is more than up-and-coming and someone to definitely keep an eye out for on the Hollywood scene. Currently, David is directing and producing the Dark Thriller film titled Garrett Manor. This film will start shooting in March of 2015 in New Orleans and in 2016 it will be released theatrically. Additionally, David is working on the 3D Animated Sci-Fi Feature The Body Defenders in which he is the Executive Producer and which is currently in production in South Africa.
David Rountree is best known as the president and founder of Psycho Rock Productions. which has produced five complete feature films and four of which he wrote and directed himself. David's best-known films are xXx: State of the Union (from 2005) and Will to Power (from 2008). David's most recent upcoming releases for 2014 and 2015 are 108 stitches and CUT!. David's film CUT! has won best director and best film at the Independent Film and Television Festival.
In addition to creating films, David has directed many national commercials as well which include industry leads such as Sprite, American Cancer Society, Netflix, Yamaha, Dish Network, Skol Beer, McCormick, and Sauza Tequila. David's work in commercials also earned him the nomination as a top-5 finalist in the Dorito Superbowl Commercial Challenge for his “Winner Take All” commercial.
