02. WHAT IS THE General Storyline of the
Tinker Web Series?
‘TINKER’ is about the numerous, late nineteenth centuryexploits of those
well-to-do inventors, Sho and Kimi Tinker and their wealthybenefactor, Lady Cushing.
03. What does the name, ‘Tinker’ mean, what is it referring to?
‘TINKER’ is the surname of two of the main characters, the father/daughter duo of world-
famous inventors: Sho and Kimi Tinker. They are Tinkers by name andtinkers by trade.
04. WHAT IS The 1st Season Summary of
TINKER?
The wealthy and eccentric adventure-seeker, Lady Cushing, attempts to completethe life’s work of her late fatherand older brothers, with the help of a well-known fatherand
daughter team of inventors called, the Tinkers. By engaging the services ofthis world-famous
duo, Lady Cushing hopes to build an unprecedented device from a set of incomplete plans created by her father 15 years earlier. The ‘contraption,’ as she calls it, is supposed to providesustainable energy and is to be demonstrated at what will surely be a triumphant presentation at the 1899 World Exposition in Paris. If successful, this device will provide cheap and abundantpower to the general publicand likely changethe world, but this innovation threatens the status quo and for that there are repercussions.
05. Want More?
Word of this device has even caught the attentionof renowned inventors and energy pioneers, NicolaTesla, Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, as well as cutthroat businessman and financier, J.P. Morgan. The corrupt energy utilities of Western America, most notably the Ministry of Water & Power and the Gasworks, have each dispatchedtheir agents in an effort to thwart the Tinkers and Lady Cushing. Her well-equipped entourage, lead by the courageous Captain Alexandra Victoria Brian Pelham, intervenes but Lord Blackwelder has a plan to maintain his dictatorship over the Americannation’s valuable and extensive power resources. With an energy war on the verge of erupting,an additional obstacle surfaces, provided courtesy of the notorious masked criminal,Jawbreaker, who
runs interference at all parties, by playing both sides in this emerging battlefor power and the wealth that typicallyaccompanies it.
06. What Exactly is “Steampunk?”
‘Steampunk’ can be summed-up in two words: VictorianFuturism. But if you need more, Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction and it is often framed from the perspective of either alternate historyor a future, which emulates the culture, and scientific achievements of the late 19th century. Steampunkcan also be described as the type of subject matter that authors Jules Verne or H.G. Wells wrote about.
07. Why “Steampunk?”
Because it’s the right time. The marketplace for Vampires is dwindling(largely because of contamination by weak storylines and over-saturation); and Zombies, which currently dominatethe world of fiction, have hit the ceiling. Althoughholding firmly at the top for the moment, the genre has nowhere left to go but down. Steampunk is on the upswing, not only as an entertainment genre but also as a culture, an aesthetic anda lifestyle and it will be the nextbig thing. That isn’t to say that EVERYONE will be a fan of Steampunk. Like all genres and sub-genres of entertainment, Steampunk isn’t for everyone… just the right ones.
