Actors Reporter Brings You a Racing Rival at AFM

Actors Reporter is excited to be covering AFM this year live and bringing you all of the twists and turns of the event and all of the amazing premieres coming your way. This one is a story of true rivalry, bravery, and bravado.

The American Cinema International (ACI), an independent entertainment company that creates, produces and distributes filmed entertainment throughout the world is scheduled to host the exclusive screenings of their newly acquired film, Snake and Mongoose at this year’s American Film Market (AFM). Founded in 1981 AFM will take place November 6^th-13th at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, California. AFM is a marketplace where production and distribution deals are closed.

Snake and Mongoose is the true story of how legendary Southern California drag racers, Don "The Snake" Prudhomme (played by Jesse Williams from Grey's Anatomy and The Cabin in the Woods) and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen (played by Richard Blake from CSI, Cold Case), combined with corporate giant Mattel’s Hot Wheels division to put Hot Wheels on the map, put drag racing into the mainstream and revolutionize sports marketing forever. The film is written by long time automotive industry journalist Alan Paradise, co-written and directed by Wayne Holloway and produced by Robin Broidy of Entertainment Universe and Stephen Nemeth of Rhino Films ("Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," "Dogtown and Z Boys," and "The Surrogate"). The also film features Noah Wyle (ER, Falling Skies), Ashley Hinshaw (Chronicle, LOL), Tim Blake Nelson (Lincoln, The Incredible Hulk), Leonardo Nam (Fast & Furious 3 Tokyo Drift), Ian Ziering (Sharknado, 90210) and Fred Dryer (Hunter).

The family-oriented action-adventure film has already opened in 25 cities in the U.S. since August of this year and will debut for international buyers during AFM. The audience will also have a chance to see authentic restored racing footage from the actual races in the film. The film has already received rave reviews from both racing and non-racing fans of all ages and genders.

After three years delighting viewers in Houston, Los Angeles was calling for April.

April headed to Los Angeles and was hired by B.E.T. and became the first Hollywood based host hired by the channel. She started off interviewing celebrities for the Hollywood segment on B.E.T. She became very well known for her famous interviews by taking the American public into the living rooms of celebrities. She interviewed some of the greats such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Anthony Quinn, Mickey Rooney, Madonna, Kenny Rodgers, Chakka Khan, Diana Ross, Rick James, Quincy Jones, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carey, Eddie Murphy, Mick Jagger and covering the Oscar Awards, Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and Hollywood Movie Premieres etc.

April has won many awards including “Outstanding Women in America in 1983.” She also became the youngest inductee into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1993. In 2012 April received the Legends Award in 2012 for her Humanitarian and her broadcast efforts.

Recently she has focused her efforts on the humanitarian front and has started the annual Diplomats Diversi-Tea Gala which honors Diplomats and Dignitaries from all over the world. She also attends the United Nations General Assembly by the invitation of the President every year and she has met more than 60 Heads of State, including the Presidents from Kenya, Costa Rica, Peru, Tanzania, and Prime Ministers of Croatia, Jamaica, Spain, France, and His Royal Highness from Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain.
